Chennai Super Kings will look to put behind their off-field issues when they take on the Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2013 final at Eden Gardens.
CSK, aiming for their third IPL title in their fifth final, will have the slight psychological upperhand after thrashing Mumbai Indians in their previous match in the playoffs.
However, with off-field issues coming to the fore, MS Dhoni and co. will need to make sure they don't get distracted in the biggest game of the season.
"Right from having Mike (Hussey) at the top, going down, we have some players who are capable of remaining calm under any situation and it is when the leadership quality comes to the fore," CSK coach Stephen Fleming said.
"Your senior players' experience counts for a lot in such tournaments. They get nervous too but their ability to soak in the pressure and respond is what takes the team home.
"Our captain (Dhoni) took the game by the scruff of its neck in the 2011 World Cup final and won it for India. He has snatched some key games for us too. Those are the players you turn to and the more of those you have in your side, better the chance you have."
Mumbai Indians were impressive in their win over the Rajasthan Royals in Qualifier 2, which got them their rematch against CSK. If they can perform well in all departments of the game, then MI certainly have a team capable of stopping the CSK juggernaut.
"We have a lot of good leadership," Mumbai Indians coach John Wright said. "A lot of our leadership comes from the players on the field and we work together. Anil Kumble is our team mentor, and he is very important, he is the boss.
"Ricky Ponting is also important. Although he has not played for a while, he is important to us. Rohit Sharma has done a great job. I am just there in the background."
Wright, though, revealed Sachin Tendulkar could miss the final as the Little Master looks to overcome a tendon injury on his wrist. "Sachin is doubtful for tomorrow," Wright said. "We will take a call tomorrow (Sunday).
"He is still a big part of our team, whether he is playing or not. So, we are just happy to have him here. And Aditya Tare has come in and done a great job for us (in his absence)."
