Seattle Seahawks Rumors: Mike Williams Going To Canadian Football League With Toronto Argonauts As Quarterback Tim Tebow Should Follow WR To CFL After NFL Blackball

Former Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Mike Williams looked like he would be one of the best players in the league coming out of college at USC when he was drafted 10th overall by the Detroit Lions, but after some injury plagued seasons, he is now heading to the Canadian Football League.

According to CBS Sports, Williams will be heading to the CFL to play for the Toronto Argonauts after playing for two seasons with both the Detroit Lions and the Seattle Seahawks while playing one season with the Raiders in 2007 before he was cut. He later was signed by the Titans and did not play in the league in 2008 and 2009 before making a comeback with the Seattle Seahawks. Williams now will head North of the border to play in the Canadian Football League, something that many have said Tim Tebow should do as well after being released by the New York Jets earlier in the year.

Williams originally was picked 10th in 2005 out of USC by the Detroit Lions, but he ended up being a bust with the team after the Lions took Charles Rogers in 2003 and Roy Williams in 2004, but he had a decent comeback with the Seahawks. Head coach Pete Carroll gave his old USC wide receiver a second chance in the NFL after Williams made just 37 catches over two season and being out of the league for a couple years.

During his time in Seattle Williams caught over 60 catches in 2010 and was able to get some Comeback Player of the Year votes behind Michael Vick, as he finished in second place after turning his career around and being a good professional and producing for the team. Williams was cut the next season after dealing with injuries and at 29 years old he finished his current NFL stretch with over 1,500 yards receiving and 127 catches with five touchdowns.
