MLB Draft Order 2013: When Does Your Team Get to Pick a Future Star?

May 28, 2013 03:51 PM EDT

The 2013 MLB Draft is just days away. On June 6, teams in pro baseball will have a chance to pick a possible future star as picks will be placed in the first-year player draft. Here we have the order as there are less than two weeks remaining before the 2013 MLB Draft. When is your favorite team picking?

There is no surprise, the Houston Astros will get the No.1 overall pick of the draft as they finished 2012 with the worst record in baseball. The Astros went 55-107 last year. With the No. 2 pick in the MLB draft, another 2012 N.L. Central, the Chicago Cubs get to grab top notch talent available in the pool. Now, the danger with the Cubs is that they have some of the better stars in the game with Anthony Rizzo getting steady playing time and Starlin Castro always a threat at the plate. Rounding out the Top 3, the Colorado Rockies get the No. 3 pick and they will be looking to add to the talent they have on their team.

The Rockies, unlike the Astros and Cubs, are over .500 and were at least in first place at some point after the first day of the season. They have two of the already established stars in the majors as Troy Tulowitzki and Carlos Gonzalez continue to produce year after year despite going through injuries.

Here's the rest of the MLB Draft order:
4. Minnesota Twins
5. Cleveland Indians
6. Miami Marlins
7. Boston Red Sox
8. Kansas City Royals
9. Pittsburgh Pirates
10. Toronto Blue Jays
11. New York Mets
12. Seattle Mariners
13. San Diego Padres
14. Pittsburgh Pirates
15. Arizona Diamondbacks
16. Philadelphia Phillies
17. Chicago White Sox
18. Los Angeles Dodgers
19. St. Louis Cardinals
20. Detroit Tigers
21. Tampa Bay Rays
22. Baltimore Orioles
23. Texas Rangers
24. Oakland Athletics
25. San Francisco Giants
26. New York Yankees
27. Cincinnati Reds
28. St. Louis Cardinals
29. Tampa Bay Rays
30. Texas Rangers
31. Atlanta Braves
32. New York Yankees
33. New York Yankees

The Yankees have a good chance to make a solid effort at building their farm system as their stars are fading one at a time and Robinson Cano and CC Sabathia aren't getting any young.

Also noticeable, the Cardinals have two picks in the first round and they are in possession of the best record in the majors in 2013. The Rays also have two picks and they have feasted off of young players, especially pitching, bringing them quickly up through their farm system and placing them in winning situations.
