Chelsea Transfer News: Cavani-Torres Swap Deal Planned as Jose Mourinho Signs $60 Million Deal

Chelsea are planning a cash plus layer deal involving Edinson Cavani and Fernando Torres, as Jose Mourinho agrees a £40 million ($60 million) four-year deal to return to the Blues as manager.

Mourinho is set to leave Real Madrid once the La Liga season comes to an end this weekend and it a well-known fact that the Portuguese had already agreed a move to Stamford Bridge.

Now, the deal has been made official with Mourinho, who was seen at Wembley watching the Championship Playoff final on Monday, agreeing on a lucrative four-year contract, according to The Sun.

"It's official Jose is a Chelsea man again! Everyone is delighted he's coming back -- the club, the players and the fans," a senior source told The Sun.

"We are already looking forward to next season -- we are sure it's going to be very exciting."

If Chelsea fans were buoyant following the new of Mourinho signing, they could get even more excited after news trickled out from Italy that the Blues were attempting to bring in Cavani from Napoli with Torres going the other way.

With Rafa Benitez taking over at Napoli next season, it was almost inevitable that Torres would be eventually linked with a move and the fact that Cavani is a Chelsea target has only made it more plausible.

Benitez, though, has apparently made it clear his intention to hold onto Cavani, who himself has admitted he is quite happy in Naples.

However, if such a deal, with cash plus Torres going to Napoli and Cavani joining Chelsea, were to be agreed upon it would suit both parties as the Italian side would be getting a proven striker, even if he might have gone off the boil in the last couple of seasons, for their biggest asset.

A similar deal involving Edin Dzeko has also been discussed with Manchester City; so it remains to be seen which move suits Napoli more, if either of the two English Premier League sides were to make official approaches for Cavani in the summer transfer window.
