Arsenal have been alerted after Adil Rami admitted he could leave Valencia in the summer, while Alberto Aquilani believes Stevan Jovetic will leave Fiorentina.
The Gunners have been heavily linked with a move for a central defender with the likes of Ashley Williams and Martin Skrtel thought to be targets.
Another name which has cropped up is Rami, who has had another solid season with Valencia.
Reports in Spain have suggested cash-strapped Valencia will have to sell some of their biggest assets including Rami and the French international admitted he could make a move if the right offer came along.
"I have learned a lot in Valencia and Spain," he told RMC. "I am here today but that does not mean to say that I do not have desires elsewhere.
"I read that Valencia pushed me towards the exit, this is totally wrong. I broke my contract with my agent in February.
"I had a good laugh because on Tuesday I had a meeting with Valencia directors and it is impossible for them to let me go.
"(However) I have a clause between €10 and 12 million (£8.5 million, $13 million and £10 million, $15 million) so we will see what is best for me moving forward."
The Gunners could do a lot worse than Rami, known as the Rock for his strong defensive play, and if Arsene Wenger does bring his compatriot in, it will certainly bolster the central defense of the English Premier League side with Sebastian Squilacci and Johan Djourou set to leave the club.
Meanwhile, Fiorentina midfielder Aquilani, who had an ill-fated spell with Liverpool, has revealed his teammate Jovetic is extremely likely to leave the Italian club.
"I think at this point (Jovetic) is going to leave," Aquilani told reporters ahead of Italy's friendly with San Marino on Friday.
"Last year they promised if he stayed another season then he could choose his future. Aside from being a teammate, he is also a great person who would do well at any club."
Fiorentina's general manager Sandro Menucci also admitted Jovetic is looking for a move away, but warned the club would sell only for the right price.
"Jovetic wants a new experience and we'll try to make him happy, but only if a suitable offer comes in," he said.
Arsenal are in a battle with Juventus for the 23-year-old's signature with the former reportedly not ready to match Fiorentina's £25 million ($38 million) valuation of the player.
Both clubs are also thought to be vying for Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain and the Jovetic signing could eventually depend on whichever club get the Argentine international.
