NFL Free Agent Signings: Quentin Jammer Leaves The Charges To Sign With The Broncos, Packers Sign Rookie Eddie Lacy

May 30, 2013 10:34 AM EDT

Free-Agent defensive back Quentin Jammer has left the San Diego Chargers to join with the Denver Broncos Wednesday after failing to sign Charles Woodson as a free-agent.

Jammer, who will turn 34 on June 19, spent Wednesday visiting with the Broncos before eventually signing a contract close to the veteran minimum salary of $940,000. He'll be expected to participate in the Broncos' organized team activity (OTA) practice on Thursday, according to the Denver Post.

After being drafted by the Charges in the 2002 NFL draft, Jammer, who's not known for interceptions, got his first interception for a touchdown against Peyton Manning and the Broncos in Week 6 of last season. He intercepted a total of three passes last season, but his highest of four came in 2003 and 2006, giving him a total of 21 career interceptions.

As the Broncos sign their man, the Green Bay Packers have come to terms with former Alabama running back Eddie Lacy, and have signed him to a contract deal.

As of now there's no details on the specifics of his contract deal.

Lacy rushed for 1,322 yards on 204 carries (6.5 average) in 2012, with 17 touchdowns. He added another 189 receiving yards on 22 receptions with two scores on the way to an NCAA National Championship with Alabama.
