NFL Rumors: Stone Cold Steve Austin Rips Tony Romo, Critical of Jerry Jones Ownership as WWE Legend Says Dallas Cowboys Need Serious Changes to be Successful

Tony Romo is not making too many fans lately and now the Dallas Cowboys quarterback can add another person upset with his performance on the field, Stone Cold Steve Austin. The former WWE wrestler took to his podcast last week to blast the quarterback and his poor effort with the Dallas Cowboys.

Austin took the radio airtime as a chance to voice his opinions on storied franchise and at the top of the chopping block was Romo.

"My problem with Dallas is I think Tony Romo is a damn good quarterback, but he [expletive] the bed at the most inopportune times so when I look for leadership, I can't say that Tony Romo is the clear cut leader...He's got all the physical tools. He's inherently accurate. He's got a quick release. He doesn't have the strongest arm in the world, but he can damn sure throw so he just needs to do some brain work," Austin said.

Austin does have a case with his argument. Last season, Romo threw three interceptions in the Week 17 loss to the Washington Redskins. The game cost Dallas a spot in the playoffs, finishing them at 8-8 on the season. Romo has one win for the team that has not won a Super Bowl in 18 years.

Despite not having a fan in Austin, Romo still has his biggest supporter with owner Jerry Jones. After helping deliver an 8-8 season, the three-time Pro Bowler was gifted with a six-year, $108 million extension with the Cowboys. The decision left a bad taste in Austin's mouth.

"Jerry Jones" Love the guy. But you've got to let someone else make some of the decisions. I think Jerry Jones is caught up a little too close to it. Romo just got a $100 million contract. It's going to take him a hell of a lot of work to try and live up to that $100 million contract," Austin said.

Jones recently asked for Romo to take on a more Peyton Manning-like attitude in the way he prepares for games. The owner wants Romo more present at the facilities and putting in more work in the film room. Austin is shocked Romo was not doing that from the get-go. Austin says he is true Cowboys fan, but cannot fully support the team if they do not make some changes.
