NHL Playoffs Schedule: Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Boston Bruins Game 3 Wednesday As Los Angeles Kings Go For 2-2 Series Thursday Against Chicago Blackhawks

The Pittsburgh Penguins are on the ropes Wednesday night against the Boston Bruins, as the team is down 2-0 in the Eastern conference finals series after dropping two games at home and without a victory in Game 3 the series is likely over.

Captain Sidney Crosby had a tough Game 2 and the Penguins were demolished 6-1 after four goals in the first period by the Bruins, who have looked just as good as they did back when they won the Stanley Cup a few years ago. Boston made quick work of the Rangers by nearly sweeping them and winning the series in five games and they have continued that strong play against the Penguins and after Game 2 they looked nearly unstoppable.

The Penguins and Crosby have come back from deficits before, but with both losses coming at home, it will be an uphill battle for the team to make it back to win things. The Bruins opened up the game like gangbusters after scoring four goals in the first period and although the Penguins got one from Brandon Sutter, which was all they could muster for the game and the Bruins were able to take advantage. Tomas Vokoun had a rough game and ended up with just nine saves before being pulled and he was outplayed by Tukka Rask in the game for the win.

The Penguins are one of the best teams in the NHL and without getting a chance to comeback in Game 3, the series could end up being done in quick time or somehow they could pull things out and take it to the house with four straight wins, but that is a ton to ask of a team.
