The Seattle Seahawks are ready for a Super Bowl jump after making the playoffs and going 11-5 last season and despite losing Chris Clemons to an ACL injury against the Redskins, the defense looks string after free agency and head coach Pete Carroll said he may return by Week 1.

According to Pro Football Talk, Clemons may be able to return for Week 1 against Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers and the team is hopeful that he can return at full strength. The Seahawks gave him a contract extension last offseason and while they like Clemons, they also signed Cliff Avril and Michael Bennett to make up for it and the depth will only be a strength. The team won a playoff game behind Russell Wilson and he took over as the starter while beating out Matt Flynn and now the team is ready to make a Super Bowl jump after trading for Percy Harvin.

The team lost Bruce Irvin to a suspension for the first four games and the team will be looking to have a consistent pass rush that looked weak at times last season. The team gave up over 160 rushing yards to the Falcons in the playoffs and they will need to improve on that to do well this season. Heat coach Pete Carroll said that Clemons has been progressing well and that he should be ready for Week 1. He added that he was ahead of schedule and is in great shape heading into the summer. Clemons has been a consistent performer for the team, averaging 11 sacks over the past three seasons and while he will be out of action, he is expected to be at the team's minicamp.

The Seahawks are ready for a big jump and the additions of Avril and Harvin will only make the team better. The offense has one of the best running backs in the league and with Wilson getting another year under his belt the team should have a successful 2013 and a bright future ahead. Wilson showed that he is ready to be an NFL starter and the way the team played down the stretch was fantastic and they are expected to be even better with Harvin in the fold.
