The Miami Heat defeated the San Antonio Spurs 103-84 in Game 2 of the NBA Finals. With the victory, the Heat tied the series 1-1 and they relied Mario Chalmers and Chris Bosh to get them over the hump before breaking the game open in the fourth quarter.
Chalmers finished the game with 19 points hitting timely shots as the Heat were battling before blowing the game over. Chris Bosh was right next to him hitting shots and grabbing rebounds to keep the ball alive for Miami.
LeBron James handled business as usual, but it took him some time to warm up and start making points. James was playing for his second straight triple-double as he scored 17, grabbed eight rebounds and finished with seven assists. The hotter James got from the floor, the worse things became for the Spurs as he was driving to the lane and open the floor for his shooters. Once Mike Miller and Ray Allen began hitting threes, the game was over.
From the third quarter to the fourth quarter, Miami went on a 33-5 run and eventually jumped up to as many as a 27-point lead. Greg Popovich had the Spurs starters on the bench and was giving his bench beyond garbage minutes.
The Spurs were in the game for the most part, but they simply lost their composure in the closing seconds. The Spurs began Game 2 in sloppy manner very similar to Game 1. They had five turnovers to open up the quarter. To their luck, James wasn't hitting any shots and the Heat were struggling from the floor. It was tied at the end of the first quarter, 22-22, and the game went back and forth the rest of the way until the Heat blew it up in the fourth.
