Preview: Two players whose starts to the year would be the talk of the WTA tour, were it not for a certain Victoria Azarenka, get the chance to grab some of the limelight on Saturday.
More than any other players, Maria Sharapova and Agnieszka Radwanska have fallen victim to Azarenka's previously unbeaten start to the year. But with the Belarusian haven gone down to Marion Bartoli, after, it must be said being softened up by Dominika Cibulkova, both players will be desperate to take the opportunity to pick up a major title.
Radwanska has been hugely impressive so far at the start of 2012, only losing to Azarenka, albeit on four occasions.
Sharapova has too been scourged by Azarenka's form. In the two biggest tournaments of the year to date, the Australian Open and at Indian Wells, the 24-year-old has been taken apart in the final by the streaking Azarenka.
