New England Patriots Rumors: Tim Tebow Named Starting Quarterback? New York's Rex Ryan Sure Hopes So

Jun 12, 2013 12:54 PM EDT

As news of quarterback Tim Tebow's signing with the New England Patriots surfaced, New York Jets coach Rex Ryan couldn't be more thrilled with hopes of Tebow replacing starter Tom Brady, according to the New York Post.

"If they want to replace Brady with him, that's fine" Ryan cracked.

After all the talk about how difficult it'll be for other teams to prepare for Tebow last season, Ryan now says he's not concerned  at the least about what Tebow could do for the Jets division-rival the Patriots.

"I'm not worried about anything, really," Ryan said. "I'm happy for the young man to get another opportunity in the league. It didn't work out here. Obviously, he had more success in Denver than he did here. It is what it is."

When asked whether he's concerned or curious to how Patriots coach Bill Belichick will plan on using Tebow, Ryan gave a an uninterested response.

"Not really, no," he said.

There's no guarantee that Tebow will make the Patriots roster, but if he does he could face the Jets in Week 2 in Foxborough. Some of his former teammates, like wide receiver Jeremy Kerley, aren't interested in the hype of the reunion and plan to treat him like any other player.

"I'm going to talk trash to him," Kerley said. "I'm happy for him. He's a good dude. It's a good fit for him. There's no bad blood toward him. I think he'll make the most of it over there."
