Watch the rubber game of the Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Arizona Diamondbacks live for free online. Why is this such a big deal? Well, you must have missed yesterday's game if you're asking yourself this question.
This matchup isn't a divisional rivalry since the Dodgers are at the pit of the west having gone 28-36 through the first two months of baseball. Meanwhile, the surprising D'Backs are at the top of the west bettering the defending champion San Francisco Giants and the fighting Colorado Rockies. The Diamondbacks are 36-29 and in first place in the N.L. West.
This game is a big deal because of Monday's mega brawl at Dodger Stadium.
It all started when Ian Kennedy plunked the Dodgers' young, new superstar Yasiel Puig. The ball looked to have graze his shoulder and hit his nose. Puig went down, but later took his base as the Dodgers' trainer ran out to take a look at their right-fielder. Later in the game, already in a brawl earlier this year, Zack Greinke threw behind and hit D'Backs catcher, Miguel Montero. Greinke then fell victim when he stepped up to the plate and Kenney plunked him. That set everything off.
Mark McGwire, the Dodgers' hitting coach, looked as if he wanted to kill somebody as it took both Matt Williams, third base coach of the D'Backs and Arizona manager, Kirk Gibson to hold back McGwire. The Dodgers and the D'Backs went at it and six players were suspended from the game.
Now, many wonder if the extra curricular activities will carry over into the third and final game of this series. First pitch will be a little after 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT.
