Los Angeles Lakers center Dwight Howard is set to be a free agent in a few weeks and while Kobe Bryant and other fans want him to remain in LA, there is a good chance he could end up in another city with the Houston Rockets or Dallas Mavericks.
One thing that could be tying him to LA though is a career in film and entertainment and he took another step in that direction, as he will star in the animated film "Free Birds". According to HitFix.com, Howard will have a voice role in the film, which has many stars, including Owen Wilson, Woody Harrelson, Amy Poehler, Dan Fogler, George Takei and Keith David. The film will be directed by Jimmy Hayward and will "follow a pair of turkeys (Harrelson and Wilson) who travel back in time in an attempt to remove their species from the Thanksgiving menu."
In the film, Howard will play a character names Cold Turkey that the two main characters meet in the course of their adventure and it marks a move in his film career. He previously appeared as himself in "Just Wright" and in last year's "The Three Stooges" and the fact that he wants to remain in the entertainment industry is one positive sign for the Lakers. The team is hoping to keep him no matter what happens and Bryant said that he would like the last word with him if he can get it.
