Aston Villa completed the twin signings of defender Jores Okore and midfielder Leandro Bacuna.
Denmark international Okore moves from FC Nordsjaelland, and has put pen to paper on a four-year deal with the English Premier League club.
Bacuna, a Dutch under-21 international, joined Villa after agreeing a move from FC Groningen, signing a three year deal which will keep him at the club until 2016.
Okore, who recently admitted he had turned down a move to Chelsea in the January transfer window, said he is looking forward to playing a big part in the young Villa squad.
"We're a young team and we played some really good football over the second half of last season which is something we want to build on now as players, as a team and as a club," the 20-year-old told the club's official website.
"I know there is great potential in the team. I have watched many of our games because the Premier League is very popular back in Denmark.
"I know also that we have a good coach and this is a really good club. This is the right club for me, I feel it straight away.
"We have a lot to show and we have a long way to go. We want to get to an even higher level of performance and show people who we are, that we can be a really good team.
"The manager is determined to develop us and to help us become better players, proving to people that we can become a top team. We can get some exciting things going here.
"I'm really excited and I'm looking forward to seeing my new teammates and getting together with them to train and get prepared to play some Premier League games."
Villa manager Paul Lambert has little doubts about Okore making an impact for the club come next season.
"He's only 20 years of age and that's good but he's also an international player at a really young age and he's played Champions League football as well, which is testament to his potential," Lambert said.
"Jores has played in big games but he's a very humble lad and he will be a really good addition to our team and to our squad. I'm pleased that we've signed a player of his stature, for he is someone who can come in and make a huge impact."
The 21-year-old Bacuna, an attacking midfielder, made his debut with Groningen in 2009, and leaves the Dutch club after 126 appearances and 17 goals.
"It feels great. It's a new beginning for me, a new step and I'm looking forward to being part of this young, hungry team we have at Villa," Bacuna said.
"This is a dream come true for me and also for my parents who are delighted for me. It's a tremendous league to be a part of, the Premier League, and we want to show that Aston Villa can takes its place among the top teams.
"I'm really excited to come here. Villa Park looks magnificent and the training facilities at Bodymoor Heath are first class. I'm really impressed with the set-up here and I'm proud to be a part of this club.
"The manager is trying to create a new generation, to build something here and make a lot of young guys show what they can do. I'm up for the challenge."
Lambert believes Bacuna's versatility will be of good value to Villa. "Leandro's energy and versatility will be really good for us," he said. "He's a good player, he has bags of energy and he will make an impact.
"He's another player we believe will do well for us. He has played in big games and he has lots of experience for a player so young."
