For most of the off season, Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant has maintained his intent on returning to the floor from a torn Achilles by opening night.
However, Bryant seems to have changed his tune about when he's expecting to return as evident with his interview on ESPN Radio 710 with John Ireland and Mike Trudell.
"I'm shooting for November, December, latest- that's my goal in my head, that's what. I'm shooting for. I'm really, really determined about getting there. You know, I wont have any fear or any worry about the tendon rupturing again, I mean there's nothing I can do about it, if it goes again, it goes again. But once I'm ready to go, it's on."
Bryant reiterated that he doesn't feel much pain and is able to walk around, but he seems to sound like he's being more realistic about a return date.
Opening night may have been a bit of a stretch to begin with, but Bryant's work ethic is second-to-non and he's sure to use his critics as motivation to come back strong next season.
Bryant also discussed his take on the current NBA Finals between the San Antonio Spurs and Miami Heat. He was asked who he was rooting for, and surprisingly, he said neither team.
"I really don't care," Bryant said. "I'd be happy for either one, I have a close relationship with Pop, but it doesn't really matter with me."
