Nigeria are be in desperate need of a win to qualify for the semifinals, but come up against the best team in the world in Spain in their final group game of the Confederations Cup.

Spain have been their sparkling best, posting two wins in two matches over Uruguay and Tahiti.

While Nigeria easily saw off the challenge of Tahiti, they suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Uruguay, which has put their semifinal hopes in serious jeopardy.

With Uruguay facing Tahiti in their final group game at the same time, Nigeria will know nothing but a win will do against World and European champions Spain, a lot easier said than done.

"We are on the same page as Uruguay," Nigeria captain Vincent Enyeama told Goal.com. "We have three points, they have three points. They have a more easy game, and we have Spain, but nobody knows what can happen. Maybe we can do it.

"I really respect (Spain), they have amazing players. (Andres) Iniesta is magical for them and then you have Xavi. You like to play against these guys because you love watching these guys too.

"But it's possible to win, because this is football. It will be a great experience for us. We can show our quality and we want to learn."

Spain had a comfortable outing in their previous game against Tahiti, thumping them 10-0, a Confederations Cup record, and defender Cesar Azpilicueta said he really enjoyed playing in the iconic Maracana.

"The Maracana is an outstanding venue," he said. "Every player dreams of playing here, as I was able to do. It was a dream come true for me.

"The fans were phenomenal. They came here to watch a good match, and that is what they got. We noticed a lot of them were cheering for Tahiti, but they came to the stadium to see a football match, I believe, and both teams played with the utmost respect to each other, and had a good time.

"We weren't looking to break any record. We came to the match wanting to perform well, and to do the best we could. The players who were selected didn't play in the first match, so we were hungry to play.

"Yes, the final score is a record at this moment, and I think it's very good. To achieve something like this at this venue is something memorable."
