The Blackhawks have the chance to win their second Stanley Cup in four years. If they lose, Game 7 will return to the United Center and they will get the chance to win again on home ice. During the regular season, Boston went 16-5 at home and will hope that those stats work in their favor.
The Chicago Blackhawks have the chance to become champions on Monday. After taking a 3-2 series lead on Saturday, the team can hoist the Stanley Cup with one more win. They may or may not be doing that with Jonathan Toews after the head injury. The current winner of the Selke Award given to the NHL's top defensive forward was not at morning skate, but plans to be dressed for the game. It is unclear whether or not he will start. He is currently tied with Patrick Kane for the team lead with 23 goals on the season.
Boston is hoping to force a Game 7 and tie the series back up with a return trip home. However, they are likely going to have to do it without Patrice Bergeron. The forward came in second for the Selke Award. He currently leads the team with 71 shots on goal total. The Bruins are optimistic that he will play in Game 6 after flying home with the team and appearing much better.
The attention of the Stanley Cup Finals is not on the clinching scenario that presents itself on Monday night, it is on the two team's biggest stars and the questions surrounding their health.Toews took a hit to the head in Game 5 and was unable to compete at the end. Bergeron left the game for a Chicago hospital after getting injured in Game 5 as well. He got hurt in the second period and was unable to finish the game. Both players are leaders for their respective teams and would be a big loss if they are unable to play on Monday night
