The NBA draft is fast approaching as things get closer to the first round on Thursday, teams will be trying to wheel and deal and figure out what they want to do with their selections and some of the biggest rumors heading into the event include the Cleveland Cavaliers and the number one pick.
The Cavaliers have had discussions with the Mavericks and the Thunder for deals involving the number one overall pick as well as the Portland Trail Blazers with LaMarcus Aldridge. So far no deal has been made, but the team is willing to deal the pick to someone as they have multiple picks and feel that a trade can help speed up their rebuilding process. Some deal talks have involved the Celtics and Paul Pierce as well as the Thunder for the top pick.
Other deals include the Orlando Magic and the Los Angeles Clippers for Eric Bledsoe, who had previously been mentioned in deals with the Celtics before that broke down. The two sides are close to a trade and it would likely involve a future first round pick in the deal and Magic forward Andrew Nicholson. The Brooklyn Nets are in talks to try and snag Kevin Garnett, which could be a three team trade, while the Minnesota Timberwolves are looking to trade for MarShon Brooks from the Nets.
The Kings are looking to deal and reportedly the Pacers have put their first round pick on the block. Oklahoma City might move up to try and take the number one pick, while the Pelicans are interested in Trey Burke as well as signing Chris Copeland from the Knicks.
