Carlos Ortiz was arrested in Bristol following the arrest of fellow accomplice Aaron Hernandez and now that the man has $1.5 million bail, he admitted to having a gun in North Attleboro on June 17.
According to Pro Football Talk, Ortiz was arrested at the house of Hernandez's uncle in Connecticut and that is another place where authorities searched. Since the bail is so high, many speculate that Ortiz played a major part in the killing and he now admitted to possessing a gun where Lloyd was killed. Fox 25 reports that he has not admitted to using the gun to shot Lloyd, but he could be involved in the murder.
Hernandez had a bail hearing on Thursday that was denied and now he is awaiting trial in the Bristol County jail. Ortiz's Facebook page shows him in a car with a Miami Heat hat and also has him with a Patriots logo there as well and it is unclear now what role he had in the murder. Lloyd was found a mile from Hernandez's home and Ortiz is believed to be one of the men that the tight end called to help pull off the murder.
Ortiz had a Facebook connection to Hernandez's girlfriend and he could be one of the men that pulled the trigger, as five bullets were shot into Lloyd. He was reportedly shot where the body was found and the semi-pro football player was dating Hernandez's girlfriend's sister. It is unclear if Ortiz will try to turn on Hernandez or what his involvement is, but he is sitting in jail now awaiting the next move, as is Hernandez.
