The dream final that everyone wanted has become a reality with Brazil looking to usurp World and European champions Spain in the summit clash of the Confederations Cup at the iconic stadium that is the Maracana.

The two best sides in the tournament made it to the final and with Brazil looking dangerous in their own backyard, Spain can expect the stiffest of tests from Luiz Felipe Scolari's men.

"We will be playing for our families, our friends, but above all for the Brazilian nation," Brazil forward Neymar, who has been in excellent form, said.

"We are ready for what will be an historic match," the 21-year-old starlet said as he looked forward to a mouthwatering encounter with the Spanish on Sunday in Rio De Janeiro's Maracana stadium.

"We shall be defending our country. It will be a great match. Both teams are out to create history.

"This will be a real final showcasing great players. It should be a great game and I just hope I come off happy and a champion with my team.

"I will just go out there and do what I always do to help my team -- take freekicks, spray passes around, score goals. I want to help the team."

Brazil not only have the upperhand of having had a day's extra rest, but will also be fresher owing to Spain having to play extra time and then endure the tension of a penalty shootout against Italy in the semifinals.

However, Spain manager Vicente Del Bosque does not want to use fatigue as an excuse when it comes to the final against Brazil.

"I'm not looking for excuses," Del Bosque said. "It shouldn't be an excuse. It's a different match. We have 72 hours, others have a bit more, but we want to put on a good show.

"The players put in a great effort (against Italy), although it's true that they play two times a week for practically the whole year.

"They've stepped up to the mark for the national team, but we still want a little bit more. We'll see if we can do it on Sunday."
