Arsenal Transfer News: Julio Cesar Hints at Gunners Move; Williams $15 Million Price Tag Not Too Much, According to Davies

Julio Cesar has again hinted at a possible move to Arsenal, by reiterating his desire to remain in London, while Ben Davies feels the £10 million ($15 million) price tag of Swansea teammate Ashley Williams is justified.

Cesar is expected to leave Queens Park Rangers in the summer with the club relegated to the Championship at the end of last season.

Arsenal are thought to be one of the prime candidates for the Brazilian international's signature, with Roma and Fiorentina also reportedly interested.

Cesar, who was in brilliant form for Brazil during the Confederations Cup, winning the Golden Glove, however, had expressed his happiness in London, with his family settled in England, and again admitted he would prefer to stay in the English Premier League, making Arsenal the favorites for the Brazilian's signature.

"Now I have to do things right at my club so I can be considered for the World Cup," Cesar said after helping Brazil to the Confederations Cup title with a 3-0 win over Spain in the final.

"Did my son say he wants to stay in London? Yes, me too. I love the city and I'm enjoying living there."

Along with Cesar, another name strongly linked with Arsenal is Williams. However, the deal has stalled with the Gunners refusing to meet Swansea's demands of a £10 million ($15 million) fee for the Welsh international defender.

Davies, who had a breakout season with Swansea last season, believes £10 million is not too much to ask for the 28-year-old.

"Last season I would say Ash was one of the best center-halves in the Premier League, I cannot think of many who were better than him," Davies said. "The job he did was incredible.

"A price of £10 million or more to sign him is completely justified.

"You see some of the money that gets spent in this league on players who are unproven in the Premier League. I think £10 million is more than a fair price."

Swansea have already signed a central defender in Jordi Amat this summer, but Davies believes keeping Williams at the club next season is essential, while extolling the defender's leadership qualities.

"You could see last season how good he was for us and he would be a massive loss," he added.

"At the moment he is still a Swansea player and hopefully that will stay the same, but if he does leave for another club we will have to adapt quickly,

"We have Jordi Amat coming in as a new signing and hopefully he can be as good as, if not better than, him if it comes down to it.

"Ash gave me a lot of confidence on the pitch and the transition from Swansea to playing for Wales was made a lot easier as I played with him every week.

"He is a great player and a great captain, he is always there to talk to, and if you have to say something he is happy to take it."
