Aaron Hernandez's girlfriend Shayanna Jenkins is currently left alone to take care of the couple's young child after the star was arrested for the murder of Odin Lloyd and as details about the case come out, will his fiancé seek full custody of the child later down the line?
According to the Boston Globe, Jenkins could possibly seek full custody of the child later down the line depending on how the case shakes out, as Hernandez could end up spending his entire life in prison if convicted of the crime. Jenkins has appeared to be in support of Hernandez while coming to court for his appearances and each time she has been visibly emotional and upset as he was denied bail.
Video surveillance, text messages and cell tower locations were also described that put a timeline on Hernandez that had him in contact and in the same car as Lloyd. The lawyers said that Hernandez was seen on video with a gun before the murder occurred and also reportedly said that he couldn't trust people anymore, likely meaning Lloyd. Hernandez sent text messages to the other two accomplices about coming to meet him the night of the shooting and Lloyd also sent text messages to his sister that layers said showed he feared for his life while in the car. The defense will likely try to get the text messages thrown out since it is impossible to truly verify who sent them, but it is likely that they will remain the case, as there are numerous statements that could point to Hernandez as the orchestrator of the crime.
Some writers have mentioned that an element appears to be missing from both murder cases, as disrespect seems like hardly enough to pull off three homicides, with Jason Whitlock writing that drugs may have played a part on Lloyd's death. Whitlock cites the numerous rental cars in Hernandez's name as well as the fact that Lloyd had a pair of those keys on him and did not appear to be robbed.
Hernandez and his lawyers had hoped to get the judge to give him bail with GPS and house arrest restrictions, but after the state offered detailed but circumstantial evidence, she ruled they bail would be declined due to the cold blooded nature and premeditated appearance of the shooting. The judge also said that Hernandez could be a flight risk despite his high profile celebrity since the first degree murder charges are so serious.
Hernandez's past in Bristol and his life at the university of Florida have been scrutinized in light of the new murder charges, as he was involved in a rough crowd, drugs and fighting as we'll. TMZ posted a picture of Hernandez with a Glock gun taken from his days at Florida and that picture was mentioned by lawyers in one of his court appearances since the bullets found matched that same model.
