NBA News and Rumors: Tyreke Evans Wants New Orleans Pelicans Offer And Hopes Kings Don't Match Contract, Sign and Trade Possible For Robin Lopez and Greivis Vasquez

The Sacramento Kings are heading into a transition period as they change owners and with an important summer ahead they will try to keep their prized restricted free agent Tyreke Evans, but it seems as though the point guard does not want that to happen.

Evans has received an offer from the Pelicans and according to ESPN.com, the point guard is hoping that the Kings do not match the offer of four years and $44 million. The Pelicans are trying to remake their roster after taking Anthony Davis last year and trading Nerlens Noel in the draft for Jrue Holliday and bringing Evans to New Orleans would be the best player at point guard the team has had since Chris Paul.

The ESPN report says that Evans has been frustrated with the team over negotiating a long-term deal and he plans to sign the offer sheet proposed by New Orleans. Evans also said that feels disrespected after the new owner had not yet made an offer to him and since he sees it as stalling, he felt his only option was to move on. The Pelicans are further along in rebuilding than the Kings and Sacramento may also be trading away its core players, including Demarcus Cousins and Jimmer Fredette.

The Pelicans have been involved in offer sheet issues before, including when Eric Gordon signed one with Phoenix two years ago and they decided to sign him back. The Kings now have until the 10th of July to make another offer to Evans and it would have to match the Pelicans offer. The Kings have decisions to make as well, as the team decided to pull back a four-year, $52 million contract to free-agent Andre Iguodala and now they must deal with Evans.

Reports said that the team could look to pull a sign and trade with Evans that would send the point guard to New Orleans for Greivis Vasquez and center Robin Lopez in a deal. The team is hoping that they can get Evans, who is one of the best young point guards in the league after averaging 17.5 points, 4.8 assists and 4.8 rebounds last season. Other teams like Atlanta, Detroit and Denver has also shown interest.
