Andy Murray will hope for an easier outing in the men's singles semifinals at Wimbledon against Jerzy Janowicz, after coming through a tense five-setter over Fernando Verdasco in the quarterfinals.
Murray carries all of Great Britain's hopes every time he steps out on court at the All England Club, and after nearly causing heartbreak for himself and the entire nation, the Scot will be keen to make it to the finals with a win over first-time Grand Slam semifinalist Janowicz.
"It will be a very tough match," Murray said after come-from-behind win over Verdasco. "He has a big serve. He's a big guy with a lot of power. He also has pretty good touch. He likes to hit dropshots. He doesn't just whack every single shot as hard as he can.
"It will be a very tough match. He's played extremely well here, I think. He had a tough match in the last (fourth) round against (Jurgen) Melzer, but apart from that he's been pretty convincing. He's a tough player."
Fatigue might be a factor for the world number two, having had to play for over three hours against Verdasco, with Janowicz only taking three sets to dispatch Lukasz Kubot.
"Providing I'm able to do the right things to recover properly, then you can feel decent the next day," Murray said. "You know, the thing with grass court tennis is the rallies aren't that long.
"But today (Wednesday) I did put a lot of, lot of effort into chasing every single ball down. I was, yeah, doing a lot of widths of the court.
"I have no idea. I actually feel pretty good just now. I don't feel too bad. But it's normally the following morning when you'll feel it most."
Janowicz will have the entire Centre Court crowd at SW19 against him on Friday, but the 22-year-old Pole is not too concerned with the atmosphere that he is about to face.
"It will be a really cool match, a really nice atmosphere there," Janowicz said. "For sure crowd will not really help me, but we'll see how it's going to be.
"This is my first semifinal ever, so I don't know what to expect."
