As everyone awaits the decision of Dwight Howard, which according to previous reports, should be coming to an end before the weekend.
As much of an effort the Los Angeles Lakers have made in order that the All-Star center re-signs for the long term, according to ESPN's Chris Broussard, Howard wasn't a big fan of the Lakers' pitch, particularly that of Kobe Bryant.
Tuesday afternoon, Bryant and Lakers point guard Steve Nash told Howard that while other teams may seem better positioned to win in the immediate future, only the Lakers had players who actually had won multiple championships and knew what it took to win them.
"You have to learn how it's done," Bryant told Howard, witnesses described. "I know how to do it and I've learned from the best - players who have won multiple times over and over."
"Instead of trying to do things your way, just listen and learn and tweak it, so it fits you," Bryant told him.
Those comments may impact Howard's ultimate decision in the end after news leaked that he would be set to announce his future sometime on Friday.
During the 2012-13 season there were times where Bryant and Howard clashed over decidedly different day-to-day approaches to the game. Away from the floor, Howard's lighthearted tomfoolery clashed with Bryant's relentlessly serious-minded way.
Even though it was widely thought that the Dwightmare would come to an end, it still remains unclear where the perennial All-Star will be signing or exactly when the announcement will be made.
