Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp admitted Robert Lewandowski is set for a move to Bayern Munich next summer.
Lewandowski is thought to have already agreed terms with the German champions, and with just one year remaining on his current contract, was expected to leave Dortmund this summer.
However, after Bayern poached Mario Gotze from them, Dortmund refused to sell Lewandowski to their rivals, leading to Lewandowski having to wait until his contract expires before leaving for a club of his choice at the end of next season.
And Klopp has little doubt that Lewandowski will be a Bayern Munich player in the summer of 2014.
"I believe it's a fact that Robert Lewandowski will move to Bayern after the coming season," Klopp told German newspaper Welt am Sonntag.
"Now it's about this: how do we build in the time until then? That is our concern, and it is our duty to our fans and members to take care that in the coming season we also have a more than competitive team.
"Up until a certain point we were ready to talk, concerning Robert's desire for change. But as nothing happened in this time, we had to say at some point: That is no longer happening.
"And now we want to prove that we can develop, with a quality player like Robert, in the coming year. Our results in the coming season are the most important thing. And with Robert I know that he also sees it like that."
Dortmund have already bought Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as a potential replacement for Lewandowski, and Klopp will probably have his eye on a couple of other gems as he looks to keep his club at a similar level to Bayern, who have only strengthened after their stunning treble winning season.
The German champions are now expected to achieve even more success under Pep Guardiola, with the Spanish manager looking to continue the dominance achieved by Bayern under Jupp Heynckes last season.
