San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick caused a bit of a stir on social media and in the blogosphere after being seen in a photo wearing a Miami Dolphins hat at a Fourth of July party, but the star who led his team to the Super didn't think it was such a big deal.
After the picture came up, Kaepernick posted a picture of himself on Instagram with the cap and said that it was ridiculous and that everyone must be bored if it was a story. Kaepernick said that he would wear whatever he wanted regardless of what anyone else thinks and that he always goes hard for his 49ers teammates. Granted, the two teams will only play this season i the Super Bowl and based on last season, it is more likely Kaepernick will be making that trip before the Dolphins do in the AFC.
One thing on Kaepernick's side at least, he once was a Green Bay Packers fan after growing up in Wisconsin and he had no trouble beating that team in the playoffs last season as the 49ers made thier way to the Super Bowl. People likely made too much of a big deal about it for this day in age, as most people wear hats to match other things they wear and even if Kaepernick didn't do that, it doesn't mean he doesn't support his current employer.
Kaepernick's move has been compared to when San Diego rookie Keenan Allen was wearing an Oakland Raiders hat while eating at In-N-Out Burger and posting it on social media. Some of his teammates didn't like that too much and eventually he apologized for the move. Chances are it won't be an issue past this initial blip, but Kaepernick has already proven that he can take a team to the Super Bowl no matter what type of hat he is wearing.
