Tim Tebow Rumors: NY Mets Darryl Strawberry Loves Patriots Quarterback, Says Florida Gators Star Is A Real Man and Admires His Christian Faith

Tim Tebow is one of the most polarizing players in the NFL and now that he is with the New England Patriots, the talk about how his career is over can stop and one person that is very glad about that is former Mets star Darryl Strawberry.

According to USA Today, Strawberry is a huge admirer of Tebow and said that the former Gators quarterback is a real man when it comes to athletics and one reason he likes him may have to do with the fact that he now is an ordained minister. The Patriots begin training camp in a couple weeks and while that will be a media frenzy, the man with over 300 career home runs thinks Tebow can handle it because of how good a man he is to his teammates.

Strawberry compared him to former teammate Gary Carter and said that he wishes he could have been more like both of them when he was playing, rather than the partying star who often found trouble. Strawberry said that he wishes he had a chance to go back and change into a Carter or Tebow and that the quarterback is strong due to his Christian faith and beliefs, despite receiving criticism for that.

Strawberry said that he admires him immensely and his good nature is being focused on even more now with the Aaron Hernandez murder situation that has enveloped the team. Tebow was brought in to be a quarterback by head coach Bill Belichick despite people thinking that he will play tight end due to the Hernandez situation, but so far that has not come to fruition. Last season the Jets barely used Tebow and made a joke of the situation, limiting him to special teams and gaining just 102 yards on the ground.
