The Dallas Mavericks are expected to have guard Monta Ellis on their roster next season after striking a three-year deal worth at least $25 million.
Ellis averaged 19.2 points and 6.0 assists for Milwaukee last season. He rejected a contract extension from the Bucks that would have enabled him to make $36 million over the next three years.
The deal came into existence after x-ray's discovered that guard Devin Harris had a dislocated toe in his left foot. In addition, first-round pick Shane Larkin suffered a broken ankle during Friday's summer league practice, and is now expected to be sidelined for at least three months.
Elsewhere, free-agent guard Nate Robinson has been receiving interest from the Denver Nuggets and the New York Knicks, according to SI.com.
Last season as a member of the Chicago Bulls he averaged 13.2 points and 4.4 assists per game, but upped his averaged to over 16 points a game during the Bulls playoff run.
Sources say that the prospect of a return to Chicago appear unlikely due to the reluctance of Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau, with the return of Derrick Rose, and Robinson is expected to be moved elsewhere.
Robinson now ranks as one of the top attractive free agents still available in the market.
