Wizards Rumors: Nate Robinson Free Agent Target As John Wall Needs Roster Help, DeJuan Blair Trade, Mo Williams, Gary Neal, Timofey Mozgov Options For Washington

The Washington Wizards have been very quiet this offseason as the free agent carousel keeps spinning and although they haven't made many moves to help point guard John Wall, one option could be to go after Nate Robinson, as he likely will be affordable after sitting on the market all this time.

According to ESPN.com, the Wizards could have some interest in Robinson if the Knicks or Denver Nuggets don't sign him, as those two teams are reportedly interesting in bringing in the former Chicago Bulls star on a deal. The Nuggets lost a number of players in free agency, including Andre Iguodala to the Warriors, so they may want to try and grab Robinson to make up for that scoring, as he played very well in the playoffs last season for the Bulls.

Robinson is unlikely to return to Chicago says the reports and the Nuggets right now appear to be the favorite to snag him. This past season at the age of 28, Robinson averaged 13.1 points and 4.4 assists in a reserve role and he stepped up in the playoffs when Derrick Rose, Kirk Hinrich and Luol Deng were hurt, scoring 27 points in the opening win against the Miami Heat. Robinson also played well against the Brooklyn Nets in their seven game series, scoring 34 points in Game 4 of that game while also dropping 23 in the fourth quarter alone.

Robinson had some tough stretches in the playoffs as well, but overall he showed that he can be a solid contributor and as long as he isn't asking for too much money, he could be in the cards for a number of teams. Some other names on the market still include Mo Williams, Gary Neal, Timofey Mozgov as well as the option of a Dejuan Blair trade, which has been reported on for some time.

Neal could be a solid option after he starred with the Spurs during their playoffs run last season and Williams also could be solid and fit the same mold as Robinson, as he was a legit Sixth Man of the Year candidate off the bench for the Jazz, but he appears not willing to return there. Mozgov could also be an option if they want some depth up front at center. The team also likes Bradley Beal, who is young at 19 and has proven he is a solid player and after averaging 13.9 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 31.2 minutes per game as a rookie, the team feels that Beal and John Wall give the Wizards a bright future.

The Wizards had one of the worst records in the NBA last season while finishing with a 29-53 record and the team execs are hoping for some quick turnarounds next season. Wall led the team with almost 20 points per game and the Wiz were 28th in the league in points per game with 93 and finished in the top 10 in points allowed with 95 per contest. The team played solid defense for a team that won just 29 games and with some veterans in the lineup they could make some noise as a middle of the pack team in the east. The team ranked ninth in rebounding and 19th in assists and Wall should be able to improve on those numbers in 2013.
