The Atlanta Braves and Chicago White Sox hook up for their first game after the 2013 All-Star Break. The White Sox are more interested about who they can add to their team's future via trades in the next couple of weeks, while the Braves will look to keep first place in the N.L. East. The Braves were playing .500 baseball in their last 10 games before the conclusion of the season's first half. They will surely look to better their play as their 54-41 record is third best in the National League. The White Sox aren't a good team. They are 37-55 with the second worst record in the American League. However, the Braves haven't played well on the road, posting a 23-26 away from Turner Field.
Tim Hudson will look to turn this trend around as he will seek his third consecutive victory after going 10 straight starts without a win. In his last two starts, Hudson allowed four earned runs in 14 innings pitched against the Philadelphia Phillies and Cincinnati Reds. Hudson has 6-7 in the year with a 4.02 ERA.
Opposing Hudson will be 28-year-old, John Danks. Danks will take his 2-6 record and 4.31 ERA to the mound. Danks hasn't pitched poorly in his last three starts, but he only has one win to show for it. In his last 20.1 innings pitched over these last three starts, Danks has surrendered eight earned runs. Overall, Danks has lost four of his last six games.
Both teams might look a little different in the following days as the Chicago White Sox have been heavily rumored to trade Alex Rios, Jake Peavy and Jesse Crain to name a few.
