Ryan Bertrand has cooled reports suggesting he could be set for a move away from Chelsea this summer.
Bertrand has struggled to establish himself in the first XI, owing to the fact that a certain Ashley Cole is ahead of him in the pecking order in the left-back position.
The 23-year-old has reportedly caught the eye of Liverpool, with Brendan Rodgers thought to be interested in bringing the left-back to Anfield.
However, Bertrand has eyes only for Chelsea and competing for a starting place come next season.
"I have been on loan four or five times but then there comes a time when you have to say, 'Right, I am going to spend some time back at the club and see what happens,'" he said.
"Obviously I want to be Chelsea's No.1 left-back, and when that time comes it will happen.
"All I can do is be ready and keep playing, keep biding my time.
"I just concentrate on progressing in the games I get, and I've managed to do so in recent years. That's the only target I have."
Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho allayed fears of a serious injury to Kevin De Bruyne, who was taken off injured after scoring in Chelsea's 4-1 win over a Malaysia XI in Kuala Lumpur Sunday.
"When he was on the floor and asking for a change everybody thought the worst, but the first assessment by the doctor is that (it is not) ligaments, and if it's something in the meniscus it has to be a very small injury, so we believe it is not an important injury and hopefully it isn't because the kid is a fantastic player," Mourinho told reporters after the match.
"A kid, but a man on the pitch. Hopefully it's nothing important and he will be ready soon.
"The doctor wants to do some control tomorrow (Monday), and after tomorrow if necessary he will go to London. But the doctor's feeling, and I trust him a lot because he is very experienced, is that it's nothing important and during the next week here he can recover."
