Los Angeles Dodgers Live Stream vs. Toronto Blue Jays: Watch Free Online as L.A. Goes for 1st Place

Jul 22, 2013 06:29 PM EDT

The Los Angeles Dodgers look to continue playing great baseball as they travel north of the border to face the Toronto Blue Jays. It is MLB.TV's Free Game of the Day and you can watch it online at no cost.
The  Dodgers are only half a game behind the Arizona Diamondbacks in the N.L. West. At 50-47, the Dodgers weren't expected to be playing .500 baseball with their talented (and expensive) roster. The Dodgers are proving that money can't buy organizations the best team in baseball, but the right mixture of youth and experience can invigorate any team.
The emergence of Yasiel Puig sparked the Dodgers' team as the 22-year-old impressed week after week. He will be reinstated into the Dodgers' lineup tonight. The other young caribbean player making a difference is Kenley Jansen. After Brandon League lost his job as the closer, Jansen smoothly transitioned into the role and has continued to strikeout batters. He's now up to 69 in 48.1 innings pitched. The Dodgers are not looking to make noise in the playoff race, but they are also looking to make a splash before the trade deadline.
Speaking of trades, though in last place in the A.L. East, Toronto is thinking twice about becoming sellers. Josh Johnson, tonight's starter for the Blue Jays,  was heavily rumored to being dealt, but talks have cooled as of late. The Blue jays have an exquisite batting lineup, but they're pitching has betrayed them after they looked prepped to contend in the A.L. East.  Balanced teams like the Tampa Bay Rays, Baltimore Orioles and Boston Red Sox look too tough for the Blue Jays.
Watch some of the more exciting exciting players in baseball take the field as Jose Reyes, Jose Bautista, Edwin Encarnacion, Adrian Gonzalez and Puig get ready to face off.
The pitching matchup for today will be Johnson vs. Ryu.
