Things just got a little outrageous. It's not enough that Devin Hester and Chris Johnson make men look bad on the football field, the NFL stars took their skills to the wild as Nat Geo Wild will air the two racing a cheetah.
As USA Today reports, in a special for Man vs. Cheetah, Hester and Johnson had a foot race with the planet's fastest land animal. The race will be featured in the fourth annual "Big Cat Week" during the fall.
It isn't clear when exactly in November the clip will air. Though it's likely neither the Chicago Bears nor the Tennessee Titans will want to have their guys missing in action as both teams will be in the middle of their 2013-2014 season.
Now, let's compare Johnson, Hester and a random cheetah from YouTube.
Wow. It's almost unfair to show the cheetah before putting Johnson and Hester's skills on display. Though three minutes is long, it's difficult to look away from this segment as the narrator breaks down how the animal's anatomy works in its favor. Hmm, kind of feeling sorry for Hester and Johnson already.
No narration is necessary here. Johnson owns the fastest time (4.24) in the combine's 40-year dash among running backs. His skills have translated on to the field as the five-year back has totaled 6,888 rushing yards and 44 touchdowns in his career.
Then there's Hester, who many wonder why opponents kick to the punt and kickoff returner.
What a way to make an impact in the team's biggest game of the year. Hester was unfazed by the bulbs going off during Super Bowl XLIV. All Hester needs is a small gap and he's able to maneuver himself through the hole.
It will be interesting to see how close these guys can make it. However, advantage cheetah all the way.
