Tim Tebow Rumors Update: Jacksonville Jaguars Mark Brunell Would Find A Place For New England Patriots Quarterback As Starter With Training Camps Opening Around NFL

Tim Tebow is currently with the New England Patriots while preparing for training camp and the upcoming NFL season, but if it were up to former Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Mark Brunell, the Florida Gators star would have a place with the franchise.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, Brunell spoke on the radio about Tebow and why the team should have given him a chance, as he says that Tebow deserved to be given a chance to start. The quarterback said he would give him the "opportunity" to be the starter and that he is a great guy in the community, for the team and in the locker room. Brunell described his skill set and the way he plays the game and said that the Jaguars should have been more open to the prospect of bringing him in.

Brunell said he thought more teams would be interested in Tebow when he was released and that he feels that he can succeed with the Patriots no matter what happens. Tebow has spent the offseason working out and preparing to play for the Patriots and while many have speculated that he may be used as a tight end with the Aaron Hernandez situation, that appears to not be happening.

The Patriots have no guaranteed money in the contract apart from minimum salaries and a $25,000 workout bonus in 2014 and that is another embarrassment to the Jets. Even when they don't have Tebow, they are still paying more for the quarterback than the Patriots are for a player that is actually on the roster. The Jets were a mess last season and never figured out how to use Tebow and he ended up with 102 yards rushing and 39 passing all year and the team barely put him in situations to succeed.

According to ESPN.com, the Jets still owe the Denver Broncos $1.53 million as part of the terms after acquiring Tebow and that is more than the $1.36 million contract Tebow signed with the Patriots for two years that has no guaranteed money. The Jets originally needed to pay the money as the Broncos had paid future salary to Tebow. Now the Patriots have the last laugh again, as they have Tebow and probably will figure out how to use him like the Jets didn't, and New York is still paying for the quarterback.

It was a far contract from his time with the Broncos, as he took over a 1-4 team and led them to the playoffs. Tebow led the team to a victory over the Steelers and after the teams signed Peyton Manning, they sent him to New York, who was thrilled about having him to steal headlines until they realized they had no idea what they were doing. Now that has played out again and they have the embarrassment of paying more for Tebow yet again.
