Peter King New MMQB: Monday Morning Quarterback Column This Week Spotlights 49ers Training Camp, Colin Kaepernick, Anquan Boldin, Dennis Pitta and Jeremy Maclin Injuries

Jul 29, 2013 01:12 PM EDT

NFL writer Peter King has a new website called The MMQB and each week he continues his Monday Morning Quarterback column like he used to on the SI.com website and for his newest one he is going around to training camps around the league and the next stop is the San Francisco 49ers.

King talks about the injury to Michael Crabtree, the fact that the 49ers are Super bowl favorites as well as what Colin Kaepernick needs to do to get better. He also gives his perspective on Dennis Pitta and Jeremy Maclin's injuries and how they will affect their teams going forward. King details the deal that brought Boldin over as well as issues regarding Von Miller and Santonio Holmes as well.

King's new website has been compared to "Grantland", the site that ESPN gave lead star Bill Simmons, but King said that the two aren't that similar, as The MMQB will be covering only the NFL and football. King's MMQB column has become a must-read for football fans, players, executives and media types alike and he said that the new website will have that column along with a number of other features, including long form articles, shorter ones like the "10 Things I Think I Think" lists from his MMQB columns, as well as investigative reports and short content.

The website will also have a daily column called "3@3" that will feature an NFL player, coach, or executive answering three questions at 3 pm. Contributors will include Globe NFL writer Greg Bedard, former Jets and Giants beat writer Jenny Vrentas, and former USA Today reporter Robert Klemko as well as SI's media writer, Richard Deitsch, and Brandt, among others and King also said that during the first couple weeks there will be content from Tom Brady, Joe Namath, and actress Olivia Munn. King is considered to be one of the best writers out there when it comes to the NFL and his writing style and personal touch in his MMQB column have made people interested in the league flock to his writing in huge numbers.
