The New York Yankees are having a bit of a power outage this season after bashing home runs at a record pace over the past few years and that has left radio man John Sterling a bit upset that he can't do his signature home run call as much this season.
In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Sterling talked about the team this year and how things are going without as many home run calls.
From the interview:
"It's certainly odd now. It's like laughing on the outside, crying on the inside," Sterling said, admitting that players and coaches rib him about it regularly.
"On the plane back from Texas, I was walking up the aisle, and [hitting coach] Kevin Long said to me, 'Hey John, how's your home-run calls?'"
Sterling shrugged.
"But yes, of course, I miss doing them," he said.
