The International Champions Cup continues on Thursday after it opened things up with Everton and Juventus, as Chelsea and Inter Milan will play each other in what should be a fantastic matchup of two very strong European clubs.
The European teams are playing preseason tournaments and warm-up games as things start to heat up and the season begins and now Inter Milan and Chelsea will face off for the first time since back in March of 2010 in the UEFA Champions League that saw Milan win 1-0. The two teams previously played in February of that year and Milan won again 2-1 and Chelsea last won against the club in a friendly match back in 2009, taking that one 2-0.

Chelsea comes into the matchup having won four of its last five matches, losing only to Manchester City back in May, while Inter Milan comes in after winning just one of five, drawing two and losing the other matchup against Udinese. Fernando Torres, Frank Lampard, Petr Cech, David Luiz, Oscar and Juan Mata are all expected to start for the Blues, while Inter Milan will have Samir Handanovic in goal with Yuto Nagatomo and Esteban Cambiasso up front.
The winner of the matchup here gets the chance to play AC Milan in New York and the loser will go off to play Valencia after that match went the way it did and the following match with the Galaxy and Real Madrid will shake out to the rest of the teams as well. Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is back in the fold after leaving and now he is back with the club after previously managing Inter Milan from 2008 to 2010, winning the Serie A, the Coppa Italia and the UEFA Champions League and now he gets the chance to go up against them.
This matchup will be the first ever soccer match at Lucas Oil Stadium , which is where the Indianapolis Colts play football and a new grass surface has been put down as the pitch over the turf that the NFL uses. Chelsea defender Tomas Kalas will be out with an injury and the two teams previously played back in 2009 in America as well at the Rose Bowl, with the blues winning 2-0.
Everton and Juventus played an exciting match from AT&T Park in San Francisco, as Everton defeated the Serie A champs on penalty kicks 6-5 to take the victory in the matchup. Everton came back and won the penalty kick contest 6-5 after Leon Osman had his shot block and they were able to hold on to the 2-1 victory and one of the primary reasons was the play of goaltender Tim Howard, who got to show off his skills in front of his home country and its fans for his English club.
The matchup between Inter Milan and Chelsea comes before Real Madrid plays the LA Galaxy of the MLS and all the teams involved are gearing up for their seasons in Europe, while the Galaxy are already moving along in the MLS. Landon Donovan and the Galaxy will play Real Madrid and Cristiano Ronaldo after the matchup to see who advances later on in the tournament.
