New York Jets Rumors: Rex Ryan on Hot Seat Over Cowboys' Jason Garrett is Absurd (Commentary)

"Rex Ryan Hot Seat" is a keyword on Google. Go ahead try it. Just make sure you return to finish reading this article... It's understandable that Ryan is being demanded more as the New York Jets have put up mediocre records in the past two seasons, but is he truly worse than the Dallas Cowboys' Jason Garrett? I don't think so.

First of all, the Jets were injured. Skinny Rex almost had to suit up himself to play defense last year as most of the starting roster went down. Is it really his fault that the Jets couldn't stay healthy, consequently, going 6-10 in the season. Coaches and managers play a big role in the players they keep, but is it his fault the Jets signed a mediocre quarterback to a five-year, $58 million deal then went ahead and traded for Tim Tebow?

The Jets' problems appear to be in the front office and changes were made after the conclusion of the season. Ryan's problem lies in the promises he makes because he can't keep his mouth shut. That's his true weakness. In comparison to the Cowboys' Garrett, it truly doesn't make sense for Ryan to be the one dominating the hot seat talk. Check out these numbers.

1,505 fans voted and over 750 believe that Ryan is the one on the hot seat entering the 2013 season. However, why isn't Garrett on the hot seat with his super talented roster? Tony Romo continues to struggle in the clutch, but he's great during the regular season and owns some all-time Cowboy quarterback records.

They had two 1,000-plus yards receivers in Jason Witten and Dez Bryant, who combined to score 15 touchdowns. Miles Austin was also clutch, going for 943 receiving yards with six touchdowns. Anthony Spencer and DeMarcus Ware each had 11 sacks in 2012. How is this team not winning? Whose fault is it? Granted, both coaches lack truly clutch players, the Cowboys should have been in the playoffs last season, but they couldn't win consistently.

This is the reaction seen the most on Garrett's face...

...Always begging to get things his way when things begin to crumble. Not that Ryan is a better coach than Garrett, but the Cowboys are stacked with talent year in and year out, yet, they never seem to progress.
