49ers vs. Broncos Score: Updates with Stats, Play-by-Play of Preseason Meeting in San Francisco

Aug 08, 2013 08:30 PM EDT

This is the matchup everybody wanted in the Super Bowl. The San Francisco 49ers and Denver Broncos meet in Mile High for their 2013 NFL Preseason meeting. This meeting will feature juicy matchups as two of the league's most popular quarterbacks face off. If you can't watch the game, follow the score online. Kick off is a little after 9 p.m. ET, and though the season is still about a month away, we are just as excited as you are.

One thing both the 49ers and Broncos have in common, aside from great quarterbacks, is that they were beaten by the Baltimore Ravens in the 2013 playoffs. The 49ers were pretty professional about their lost. If you can't beat them, have them join you. They added Anquan Boldin, who killed them in the Super Bowl, catching six passes for 104 yards and a touchdown. In the end, the Ravens shocked the world, handing the 49ers their first ever Super Bowl loss.

Colin Kaepernick is the newest NFL sensation at the quarterback position. Not only can he throw, but he can throw hard and throw on the running. Now that's a lot of throwing. Kaepernick and the 49ers bolstered their receiving core after losing Michael Crabtree over the offseason, explaining why they went for Bolding.

The Broncos have probably the best regular season quarterback of our generation. No, it's not Tom Brady or Eli Manning, it's the other Manning, Peyton. After coming off of neck surgery, Peyton did not miss a beat. He took the Broncos from a Wild Card team to division dominators. Peyton passed for 4,659 yards, 37 touchdowns and 11 interceptions this past season. Neck problems? Yeah right!

The 49ers and Broncos are once again heavy favorites to win their division. The Broncos might have an easier time, however, as the 49ers have to deal with the young Seattle Seahawks, who have stacked up on talent and are only expected to get better.
