Tim Tebow Rumors: Bill Belichick Tells Patriots Quarterback "Be Ready" as New England Debut Likely in First Preseason Game Against Philadelphia Eagles

Media reports surrounding Tim Tebow have been almost dead. Is Tebowmania officially a thing of the past? The quarterback is knee deep into his time with the New England Patriots and he is learning to simply blend in. As a third-string quarterback, he has only addressed the media a handful of times and the team intends to keep it that way. So when will the quarterback see the field with his new team? According to Bill Belichick it could be Friday.

Tebow will probably only see the field a small handful of times in 2013, if he sees it at all. But every player gets a chance to get in work during that preseason and that includes Tebow. Since the starters only play around one series in the first preseason game, Tebow was told to be ready to see the field on Friday against the Philadelphia Eagles.

"Just be ready when your number is called," Tebow said via the Boston Globe.

Simple instructions from Belichick. Tebow insists that he has just been focused on learning the new offense and trying to get better every day so he can remain on the team throughout the season.

"I feel like I'm getting better every single day," Tebow said. "More comfortable with the offense, better timing with everybody around me, better understanding of what the coaches want me to do and with the offense, with the reads, with the timing. So it's just every day trying to get a little bit better, and it sounds cliché, but it's true. That's really what I'm focused on, and I know it's something that hopefully I've been able to accomplish."

A key to Tebow's success in New England is in the hands of offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels. The coach has always been a fan of the quarterback. It was McDaniels who was responsible for getting Tebow to the Denver Broncos as a rookie and he likely talked him to up to Belichick before the Patriots signed him in the offseason. Now that the two are reunited, Tebow is enjoying the opportunity to learn from him.

"It's been great," Tebow said. "We've had a great relationship, and being back with him, he's so smart with the game - coaching quarterbacks, coaching offense. And just being around him and talking ball is a lot of fun."

Tebow has been getting a few jabs for asking Tom Brady too many questions, but he says that overall his time in New England has been great. Backup Ryan Mallett will likely get a majority of the snaps on Friday, but Tebow will see the field at some point.
