The Aaron Hernandez murder case has continued investigating the death of semi-professional football player Odin Lloyd and with the former Patriots tight end in jail awaiting trial, the police have looked into a storage unit that was rented in the name of his fiance Shayanna Jenkins.

According to ESPN.com, police conducted a search of a storage unit that was rented by Jenkins and court documents that were released said that his fiancee, they believe, attempted to "hide evidence" and "mislead" investigators previously as they were looking into the case. The documents said that investigators did not seize anything from the storage unit, which was located in the hometown of both Jenkins and Hernandez in Bristol, Connecticut. Jenkins is not charged with anything in the case regarding the June 17 shooting of Lloyd and at one point she was talking with police before Hernandez told her to stop.

The report says that police looked into Jenkins based on surveillance video evidence, text messages, as well as an interview with her sister Shaneah, who dated Odin Lloyd before he was killed. Reports say that Hernandez and Lloyd met through Jenkins and she "suggests" that Jenkins might have known what happened to the gun after the shooting, a gun that police have yet to find or locate. Hernandez is currently in jail awaiting trial and his next court date is August 22 for a probable cause hearing that was delayed, but the grand jury looking into the murder could indict him before that.

Jenkins has been out of the spotlight mostly when it comes to the case and she has appeared in court multiple times to see Hernandez. Jenkins originally said to police that she went to bed before Hernandez left the night of the shooting and the report says that in surveillance footage Jenkins could be seen taking out garbage the day after the shooting. According to the records, Hernandez allegedly called Jenkins the day after the body was discovered and told her to dispose of weapons he had in the house.

The report also says that Jenkins was later seen in the day taking out a bad with a "rigid object" and that she put something that could have been a "lock box or a safe". The video shows that when she returned, she opened the trunk and that item was no longer there and this information comes after it was reported that another accomplice in the case, Carlos Ortiz, who is also arrested, said that Hernandez stashed the guns in his basement after the shooting. Police have been searching for the weapon since the body was discovered and while they believe a .45 was used in the murder, they do not know where that gun is located and have yet to find it after looking in a lake in Bristol and other places.

Hernandez is facing life in jail for the murder charges in the first degree and he is being held without bail after he was denied twice. His last court date was postponed due to lawyers looking at new information that he and the shooting may be connected to a double murder in Boston and needed more time. The next major date in the case will be on Aug. 22 and indictment charges could come down by then.
