Pittsburgh Steelers Preseason Schedule: TV, Channel, Date and Time of Week 1 Meeting

Aug 10, 2013 02:10 PM EDT

The Pittsburgh Steelers 2013 NFL Preseason kicks off Saturday evening as they are set to meet the New York Giants at Heinz Field. Find out all the information you need to know regarding Saturday's game as the Steelers will look to make the proper additions to their roster, which will enable them to hit the ground running as soon as the season begins.

Wait, before we continue, who remembers this little touchdown run? Don't understand why NFL.com hasn't uploaded a real version of the play.

It was the Steelers vs. Giants during the 2012 regular season. It's simple, because of the play, the Giants lost and eventually couldn't make it to the postseason. However, the Steelers also missed the 2012 playoffs, finishing the season 8-8. Ben Rothlisberger is still running the show on offense, but this guy, Mike Wallace is no longer in Pittsburgh.

The Steelers' wide receiver core is questionable in 2013. Plaxico Burress is injured and his return to football is in question, following a rotator cuff injury. As of right now, three guys you can count as targets for Rothlisberger; four-year men Emmanuel Sanders and Antonio Brown. Brown's numbers took a huge dip in 2012 after the wide receiver caught over 1,000 yards the season before. However, Sanders proved clutch in 2012, increasing his role on the offense and doubling his catches and yardage.

The Steelers' running game is being reconstructed. They added LaRod Stephens-Howling, who rushed for 350-plus yards and four touchdowns in 2012 with the Arizona Cardinals and they also have Jonathan Dwyer returning this season after he lead the Steelers in rushing last season, totaling 623 yards and two touchdowns.

Harrison James is no longer a Steeler, but the team's defense still looks good heading into the regular season. They will need somebody to fill in James' role. Despite his violent ways, James intensity rubbed off on fellow teammates as the Steelers are one of the hardest hitting teams in the NFL.
