Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant played for the team back in Seattle for a very short period before the franchise moved and the former star was back again in the city over the weekend to take part in the Jamal Crawford Summer Pro-Am and the fans were not disappointed.
According to ESPN.com, Durant was back in the city for the first time in a basketball capacity since the franchise moved to Oklahoma City and he scored 63 points while taking 62 shots in 51 minutes of play. Durant signed autographs and took pictures with fans and while many are upset that the team moved, they still love Durant. As a rookie Durant scored over 20 points per game and played in 80 games and now he is seen as one of the best players in the NBA.
Although he missed plenty of shots, his stat line was similar to others, including Spencer Hawes, who scored 58 points on Saturday. During his run, Durant went 8 of 32 from 3-point range.
"I just want to say I miss you guys," Durant told a crammed small-college gym filled with about 3,000 fans, many in Durant's old Seattle SuperSonics jersey. "Thank you for the warm welcome. I can't wait to come back."
