Robert Griffin III News: Rob Parker Gets Fired, RGIII Doesn't Rejoice

Back in December of last year, Rob Parker made comments about Robert Griffin III that got him suspended from ESPN and ultimately fired. However, though the Washington Redskins' quarterback wasn't happy with Parker's comments, he was also not happy about ESPN firing the commentator.

"I haven't blown the song up, because I don't think it's right to make fun of Rob Parker for losing his job," he says. "There's some wrong in what he said, but there's some wrong in him losing his job as well. And I don't want people to think that I, you know, that I'm trying to stick it to Rob Parker, or that I'm happy he lost his job. But I was very unhappy with the things he said."

The song RGIII is referring to was cued up during a GQ interview. The song is supposedly mocking Parker for losing his job, but RGIII stated he wasn't purposely making fun of the now fired commentator.

What was it that Parker said that got him fired? Cue the tape: "Is he a brother, or is he a cornball brother? He's black, he kind of does his thing, but he's not really down with the cause; he's not one of us."

The comments are obviously out of the line and have nothing to do with football. Parker questioned RGIII's "blackness" because his wife is white and supposedly, RGIII is a republican. What RGIII does on his personal time is his business. Anyways, no matter what race Redskins fans are a part of, the one thing they want is to see RGIII healthy on the field. He can vote and marry whomever and fans will still follow the quarterback that brought the NFC East title to Washington.
