After being quoted on Wednesday in the Uruguayan newspaper El Observador as saying that he has now decided to stay at Liverpool, striker Luis Suarez has since denied those comments following Uruguay's 4-2 win over Japan.
Suarez issued this denial: "I didn't say it. Maybe someone else did; the main thing is that I am here now with the national team"
Now that it's been made clear that Suarez hasn't made those comments, Arsenal will now use this opportunity to make another bid as they understand that there must now be a change in Liverpool's stance for any deal to get done.
A meeting has been held at Arsenal to discuss alternative options but the club are also still considering a final Suárez bid before the transfer window closes that with add-ons would amount to £49 million.
Suarez thinks highly of the prospect about playing for Arsenal and wants to speak with the club about a potential transfer but he is still believed to be harboring hopes that Real Madrid would come calling, despite their declaration about not being interested.
The Gunners have also been confirmed to have begun internal discussions about going for different options and they appear to be willing to revisit an interest in Swansea's Spanish goal-machine Michu.
The Gunners have also put together an extensive scouting report on Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko in the past and Wenger still rates him highly and would move with any encouragement from the club.
