Chelsea stopped the defending champion Barcelona at the Champions League after a 2-2 draw at the second-leg of the semi-finals, successfully revenging the controversial game in 2009.

With a 1-0 victory last week at the first-leg, the Tuesday's draw allowed Chelsea to move on to the final stage to hope for the Champions League trophy for the first time in the club's history. Barcelona and Messi, considered one of the best clubs and the best players in the world, must wait until next time to reclaim their title.

Barcelona, who was scoreless at the previous game, had to win by two points in order to secure a spot at the final. At first, the game was turning out in favor to Barcelona.

Sergio Busquets scored the first goal on the 35th minute, and Chelsea's captain John Terry was sent off two minutes later. Chelsea had to play with only 10 players for the rest of the game. Soon after, Andres Iniesta scored another goal on the 43rd minute, furthering the score to 2-0 and hoping to secure their two-point lead.

But the hope for Barca lasted only three minutes as Ramires netted the goal during the extra minute of the first half. After receiving a brilliant pass from Frank Lampard, the Chelsea midfielder chipped the ball over goalkeeper Victor Valdes.

In the second half, Barcelona continued to press Chelsea in order to score another goal, but luck was not on their side.

Barcelona had a clear chance to run ahead 3-1 when they were award a penalty from Drogba's foul on Cesc Fabregas, but Messi's shot hit the crossbar and was denied.

Fernando Torres, who did not have the chance to play against Barcelona after moving to the English Premier League, scored the final goal at the last minute for Chelsea to deliver 2-2 draw for his club.

Chelsea fans have been waiting to revenge against Barcelona after a controversial game in 2009. At the second-leg of Champions League semi-final, Iniesta scored a late goal which allowed Barcelona to advance.  Chelsea believed the referee ignored several penalty moments for them. After the game, Drogba yelled "it's f***ing disgrace" in front of the camera and was banned three games for it.

But Chelsea fans are comforted after Tuesday's game. The English club is yet to win the Champions League trophy. Chelsea will be playing against the winner of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich at the final.
