The Indianapolis Colts will choose Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck with the top overall pick in the upcoming NFL draft according to team officials.
Colts GM Ryan Grigson confirmed media reports that Luck would succeed Peyton Manning as the team's next franchise quarterback.
"We didn't the see the point in prolonging what the world already knows," Grigson said on Tuesday. "It's about Andrew and we wanted to do the right thing by him."
By picking Luck with the top pick, this will lead the Redskins to likely choose Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III out of Baylor with the second overall pick.
After that, it is anyone's guess who the Vikings will pick or if they will even keep the pick, possibly trading away as well.
Luck plans to fly his entire family to New York for draft night to celebrate the occasion.
The Colts will be getting one of the most highly touted quarterback prospects in the last decade. Luck finished last season with 3,170 passing yards, 35 touchdowns, completed 70 percent of his passes, and broke John Elway's school record for touchdown passes with 80.
