Tottenham have plans to trying to hijack Liverpool's bid for Brazilian playmaker Willian, according to new reports.
The Daily Mirror has reported that the Reds have already agreed terms with the 25-year-old who has been put up for sale by cost-cutting Russians Anzhi Makhachkala and had been confident of completing the deal.
But the two clubs have not yet agreed a fee with Anzhi demanding £30million and Liverpool offering only £26m.
Spurs have now indicated to the Russians that they are ready to improve on the Anfield giants' bid.
Also on the shopping list is Croatian teenager Alen Halilovic dubbed the 'new Luka Modric' for whom a £12.9m deal has already been agreed with Dinamo Zagreb.
They're also pushing to sign the 23-year-old Romania and Steaua Bucharest central defender Vlad Chiriches, although it has been reported that the club's owner, Gigi Becali, who is in jail, is unhappy for the deal to proceed.
However, as of now the top two targets before the transfer window is closed on Sept. 2 are Roma's Argentina winger Erik Lamela, who will cost the club nearly £30m, and Ajax's £8m Denmark midfielder Christian Eriksen.
